Women sue after cops handcuffed and held them at gunpoint

Two girls are suing the Los Angeles Police Department after they are saying officers wrongfully focused them throughout a “terrifying and unnecessary” site visitors cease final 12 months.

Sen, who works in neighborhood growth, was serving to Balsaver, a movie producer, transfer into a brand new condominium in February 2020. They rented a U-Haul truck to move Balsaver’s belongings from Hollywood to Los Feliz — a couple of five-minute drive.

Sen’s boyfriend, Roger, arrived at the condominium forward of the ladies and filmed the interplay, after being advised by police to “stand back.”

“I am grateful that this will not go unnoticed, yet all I can I think is I am going to die alone on camera,” Balsaver wrote.

Describing the gun pointed at her, Balsaver wrote, “This is a gun that requires a long body strap just to hold it. This is a gun that shouldn’t be meant for anyone, certainly not for Shona and me.”

“I feel a knee push down hard into my back. Another forces my head down,” she continued. “They grab my right hand, twist my arm behind me, and wrap a cuff around my hand. I lift my left and they do the same.”

The girls mentioned they weren’t advised why they had been pulled over till after they had been handcuffed. Balsaver advised an officer {that a} receipt for the truck, rented earlier that morning, was in her bag.

Balsaver mentioned that, after she proved her innocence with the receipt, officers joked and teased her in regards to the incident, telling her to “demand free U-Haul services for a year.”

Balsaver mentioned the LAPD advised her that officers had not but been skilled to decipher between stolen and recovered autos within the division’s “new” four-month-old system. U-Haul had reported the car as recovered a number of weeks previous to the incident.
