Lottery winner speeds away from retailer, but forgot he was pumping gasoline, MI officials say

A Michigan man scratched off a $1 million lottery ticket whereas fueling up at a gasoline station, and in his pleasure, sped off with the pump nonetheless working.

“I stopped at Speedway to get gas and decided to get a ticket while I was there. When I saw I’d matched the number 14 and then revealed the $1 million amount underneath, I started yelling: ‘Are you kidding me?!’” the nameless winner instructed Michigan Lottery officials.

He wound up taking a chunk of the pump with him, but he can most likely afford to pay for any damages.

“I was so excited,” the 59-year-old Genesee County man stated.

He went to lottery headquarters and opted for the lump sum as an alternative of annuity funds, bringing his whole prize to $634,517, in line with a lottery launch.

He has plans for the cash: a brand new automobile, a house, and a trip.

The lottery launch doesn’t say if he’ll want to purchase Speedway a brand new hose or nozzle.
